Members may be aware that a revised version of the Football Governance Bill has been published in the House of Lords today.
Our understanding is that, compared with the Bill brought forward by the previous Government, this has been strengthened and extended in some key areas. These include:
the treatment of parachute payments
ticket pricing
fan consultation rights
protection for football club assets
equality, diversity and inclusion
BST welcomes the re-introduction of the Bill and looks forward to it becoming law in the New Year. Members will remember that we petitioned Parliament for this as long ago as 2018 and are delighted that it is now going to happen.
