The result of the BST members’ vote regarding the match ball sponsorship package for Homecoming Saturday was 396 in favour and 51 against, so Trust will proceed with the sponsorship.
As it happens, a very kind BST member has offered to donate the cost of the package and the committee has accepted gratefully.
Also, given the mixed opinions about how to allocate the 12 guest places that come with the package, the committee has agreed in discussion with the donor to leave the table empty in symbolic memory of all the Pool supporters who can’t be at Bloomfield Road because they have passed away during the years of exile. Flowers in their memory will be placed on the table.
In addition, the club is planning a minute’s silence before the game to commemorate those supporters who have died over the course of the last four seasons and will print their names in the match day programme.
If you have lost a much-loved Seasider in that time and would like his or her passing to be remembered in this way, please email details of the person’s name and dates (e.g. 1934 – 2017) to email@example.com by 7am on Wednesday morning.
