We are once again calling for fans to consider boycotting the FA Cup tie on 5th January which will be televised on BT Sport. BST is currently contacting pubs from Fleetwood to Lytham that will be televising the game on the day so that boycotting fans who want to watch it with other fans can plan to do so, like a series of fanzones. It is not only a chance to experience the game with other fans without giving anything to the Oystons, it's also an opportunity to support local businesses instead on match day. A list of participating venues will follow.
The BST committee will be outside the ground as we are before every home game, prior to kick off. As there will be a larger crowd than normal, including the visiting Arsenal fans, we would welcome any Blackpool supporter who would like to stand with us or help to leaflet the visitors explaining why we are boycotting any game which financially benefits the owner. We must stress that our presence outside the ground is peaceful and non abusive to those who choose to attend the game and would ask that anyone protesting does so in a reasonable and dignified fashion.
Empty seats send the strongest message and we reiterate our request for football fans and the people of Blackpool to boycott this game.
